LOVE & MERCY MISSION
A MESSAGE OF HOPE & HEALING
The Divine Mercy & Our Lady of Guadalupe from Mexico
Through Love and Mercy Mission I, II & III, Miraculous Relic Images of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Sacred Replicas of the original Divine Mercy Image (Vilnius) travelled from Mexico City to Australia, the Philippines and the Pacific Islands of Tonga and Samoa in Oceania in April-May & November 2011 and in May-June 2012.
The purpose of Love and Mercy Mission is to make Our Lady of Guadalupe well-known all around Australia and the Oceania Region. Unlike in the Americas, not many people 'down under' have heard of Our Lady of Guadalupe, our Mother of Mercy - Mother of Humankind.
The enthronement of Relic Images of Our Lady of Guadalupe around the world is a Pastoral Ministry from the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, put into action by Fernando Anchustegui, Director of Vida y Misericordia Internacional (Life & Mercy International).
For Love and Mercy Mission I & II, we sponsored both trips from Mexico of Fernando, who brought the Relic Images to be enthroned in Australia and the Pacific Island of Tonga. During these trips, we facilitated the Enthronements in the Philippines and in the Pacific Island of Samoa.
Do venerate Our Lord's and Our Lady's Holy Images now enthroned in:
- St Michael's Catholic Church, 29 Banks Ave, Daceyville NSW
- St Clement's Melkite Catholic Church, 74 Ernest St, South Brisbane QLD
- St Benedict's Catholic Church, 299 Warrigal Rd, Burwood, VIC
- Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Corner Girrawheen Ave and Patrict Court, Girrawheen, WA
- Christ The King Catholic Church, 57 Schmidt St, Tennant Creek, NT
- Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Rogationist Ave, Multinational Village, Paranaque City, Philippines
- St John The Baptist, Pea Village, Tonga
- Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ti'avea, Samoa
Our deepest gratitude to The Most Rev Julian Porteous DD, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney, who 'opened the door' for us, thus getting Love and Mercy Mission off the ground.
Our heartfelt thanks to all the Archbishops and Bishops who made Love and Mercy Mission possible by giving us permission to take Our Lord and Our Lady around their respective Archdioceses and Dioceses:
- The Most Rev Denis Hart DD, Archbishop of Melbourne
- The Most Rev John Bathersby DD, Archbishop Emeritus of Brisbane
- The Most Rev Barry Hickey DD, Archbishop Emeritus of Perth
- The Most Rev Terence Brady DD, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney, who enthroned the Blessed Images in St Michael's
- The Most Rev Anthony Fisher DD, Bishop of Parramatta
- The Most Rev Eugene Hurley DD, Bishop of Darwin
- The Most Rev Gerard Hanna DD, Bishop of Wagga Wagga
- The Most Rev Les Tomlinson DD, Bishop of Sandhurst
We are eternally grateful to Fernando Anchustegui, Mons Diego Monroy Ponce and all the Parish Priests who opened the doors of their Parish Churches to bring Our Lord and Our Lady to their flock, in particular the Parish Priests who said 'YES' without hesitation to the enthronement of the Holy Images in their Parishes. Seeing people from all walks of life and age groups venerating Our Lady of Guadalupe and her Son, Jesus, The Divine Mercy was so uplifting.
The Enthronements in Melbourne and Perth were made possible by selfless and generous devotees of Our Lord and Our Lady. We take this opportunity to thank them for their wonderful effort, including those who contributed to the Mission's success - great is their reward in Heaven.
The November Mission also included an awe-inspiring trip to The Northern Territory. We also thank a lovely lady, so devoted to Our Lord and Our Lady, too. She organized what turned out to be an Outback Spiritual Adventure as we brought The Divine Mercy Vilnius Replica and Our Lady of Guadalupe's Sacred Relic Image to Parish Communities from Darwin right down the Red Centre of Australia to Santa Teresa and Alice Springs in amazingly cool weather - an absolute miracle. Being in the midst of our Aboriginal brothers and sisters was truly a life-changing experience - one we shall treasure for the rest of our lives.
Love and Mercy Mission III made up for what we couldn't achieve in the Second Mission. With a generous friend we travelled by land in his new motorhome from Melbourne to the Northern Territory through South Australia via the Red Centre - our 'Caravan of Mercy' dream realised. We simply had to take Our Lord and Our Lady to the remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory that missed out from last November's Mission due to time constraints. This was amazingly another Spiritual Adventure just like the first but this time the route was the other way around, even reaching our brothers and sisters in the northernmost part of the Northern Territory - absolutely AWESOME!
Our sincere gratitude to family and friends who prayed for us and donated money, their time and materials to help offset some expenses of the three Missions - only God knows how many souls benefited from your generosity.
Last, but not least, we thank you for dropping in and visiting this website and those who have placed or will place an order. You are helping Our Lady of Guadalupe's Work in your own little way.
Please share Our Lady's website, virginmotherofguadalupe.com & its sister website, The Divine Mercy at trustandmercy.com to the whole world - start with your family and friends. Bring the Message of Love and Mercy, Hope and Healing far and wide.
About The Blessed Images:
Our Lord's Divine Mercy Image is a replica of the original, which is the only Image painted under St Faustina's direction on instructions from Our Lord Jesus when He appeared to her on 22 February 1931. Jesus told St Faustina:
"Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I Trust in You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and throughout the whole world." (Diary 47)
"My gaze from this image is like My gaze from the cross...By means of this image, I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul have access to it." (Diary 326, 570)
The Miraculous Relic Image of Our Lady is one of 220 Images touched to the Sacred Original Tilma during a special ceremony on the 8th of May 2004 at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. During this ceremony, the Rector of the Basilica sanctioned these Images destined for enthronement in countries around the world and declared that “Each image will carry the same graces as in 1531 of Evangelization, Conversion, Healing and Truth”.
The Blessed Replicas of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Jesus, The Divine Mercy travelled from Mexico to be with you and wait for you to visit and venerate them where they are enthroned. It is a wonderful opportunity indeed to receive the same Graces and Blessings as when Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to a humble Mexican Indian, St Juan Diego, from 9-12 December 1531 and miraculously imprinted her image on his tilma, made of cactus fibres. Our Blessed Mother told St Juan Diego:
"Am I not here, your mother? Are you not under my protection?"
